Conventional dental crowns typically take two office visits. On your first visit, your tooth is shaved and shaped, and molds are taken for your crown. A temporary crown is placed over your tooth to protect it while your permanent crown is created in a dental lab. On your second visit, your new crown is tried in and cemented.

CEREC technology is different because it only takes one visit and you leave your visit with your new all ceramic permanent crown. It is quick, easy, and your tooth is fully repaired with material that is natural looking and durable. What’s more – because there is no metal in the crown – it is possible to “see” with dental x-rays the part of the tooth covered by the CEREC Crown.

Single Visit Dental Appointment

Most restorative cosmetic dentist procedures require multiple visits to the dentist to complete treatment. The first session normally involves the injection of anesthetics, tooth preparation and impressions, and the installation of temporary restorations.

You then have to schedule another appointment a few weeks later for the installation of your permanent restoration. Save time with CEREC one-visit crowns, inlays, onlays, or veneers. A one-day crown provides you a customized, natural-looking, restored tooth in one visit. Let’s talk about how CREC crowns can improve your smile.

How Does The Instrument Work?

CEREC uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology that incorporates a small, hand-held camera and a computer in one instrument, and a milling unit to grind/mill restorations in-house. The camera is used to capture the 2D or 3D image of the affected tooth/teeth and the surrounding area. This image is then displayed on a computer screen where the dentist then uses the special CEREC Software to create the perfect restorative tooth/teeth. Once the virtual restoration is created, the information is then sent to the milling machine via software and milled onsite within 8-10 minutes.

CEREC is bonded to your tooth through a chemical process designed to save as much healthy dental tissues as possible. Crowns made on the CEREC are made while you wait. Amazingly, in just one appointment, you can walk away with a natural looking, strong restoration to their damaged tooth, and never have to even think about a temporary crown.
