Perio 360

Healthy gums are intrinsically connected with your overall health and wellness. Identifying and addressing the source of gum disease can significantly improve the health of your body. At Omni Dental, we provide the latest proven, evidence-based techniques for diagnosis, treatment, and long term management of gum infections (periodontal disease). The name for this program is Perio 360.

So, What Is Perio 360?

Perio 360 is four things:

1. Comprehensive.

Perio 360 addresses gum health from all directions. The approach pairs proven clinical treatments with patient education, improved homecare techniques, and risk assessment. Planning for long term health and maintenance are essential components.

2. Surgery Free.

Traditional periodontal disease treatment often involves surgical intervention. Surgery is expensive, can be painful, and doesn’t always get to the root cause. Perio 360 is completely non-surgical and has been shown to reduce the need for gum surgery by 90%!

3. Personalized.

No mouth is the same. Perio 360 involves looking at each patient’s individual needs, situation, and risk factors so as to develop a personalized plan of care. Our team is there each step of the way to provide education and guidance.

4. Effective.

The treatments and techniques that makeup Perio 360 have been proven to get patients healthy and to keep them healthy. In this case, health means not only a healthy mouth but a healthier overall body too!

What Treatments Make Up Perio 360?

After your dentist determines that you have a gum infection, Perio 360 starts by looking at which bacteria are causing it—the test is painless, fast, and accurate. Once your dentist has the results, a personalized plan is laid out. We will sit down with you in a treatment conference to discuss this plan, explain the test results, and answer all of your questions. While everyone’s plan is a little different, Perio 360 plans may include:

  • Bacterial testing
  • Medical testing
  • Scaling and root planing
  • Ultrasonic debridement
  • Laser therapy
  • Oxidating rinses
  • Targeted antibiotics
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Tobacco cessation counseling
  • Family counseling to address contagious bacteria

All patients are given instruction in best practices for care of their teeth at home.

Who Is A Candidate?

Patients who have continued bleeding, redness, or deeper than normal gum pocketing measurements may be candidates for Perio 360. If our hygienists notice any of these findings at your appointment, they will notify your dentist and inform you of possible next steps. If you display these signs, you may be at greater risk for some of the above diseases. These symptoms may also be a sign of a deeper, undetected health problem.
